Fuel Tank Noises?
on: December 23, 2015, 06:42:21 PM
Hello all...

Has anyone else heard noises from the 2015 bike in a powered down state?  The noises akin to air going into a tyre, seem to emanate from the area of the fuel tank cover.

No I haven't noticed it.

Is this straight after a ride when the bike is hot?

If so could it be a fan you are hearing?

Hello...

No it's not a fan. I think if the bike is cold I can generate the noise by just a gentle push while on its centre stand.

Could be the higher octane fuel, I always buy Tesco Momentum.

Its possible.

It may just be a bit of pressure building up in the tank but it would be surprising in this cooler weather.

I think I would mention it to the dealer for peace of mind.

My 2015 bike makes that noise, I opened the fuel cap and it seemed like there had been a vacuum in the tank, so I lifted the tank, checked the breather pipe to see if it was kinked but it wasn't, the bike's running ok.

Curious noise isn't it?

My 2015 runs smoothly too so haven't thought anymore about the noises.
