    Hi to all,
Just taken delivery at the weekend of new red machine with the standard accessory pack (tomtom/centre stand/akrapovic/topbox)
Also now fitted up with powerbronze hugger/fenda extenda, -  then its fit for the country lanes here - currentrly covered in farm debris/cowdung etc....!
its gotta get the first service in before end April - and then to Spain ....  Loving the riding position.   Just changed from Triumph Tiger 800.

    Welcome!  :031:

How do you like it compared to the Tiger? I've test ridden the Tiger 800 at least twice.. engine was ok - found the mid-range to be lovely, and definitely more my style than the slightly underwhelming mid-range of the VFR. Higher RPM felt completely pointless, and the overall experience left me completely cold.  :155:

    Thanks for the beer !
Ive owned 2 x Tigers (first on release 2011, second with ABS in 2014). I enjoyed them both, locally and European/Alps etc...   touring.  I hated the testride on the Crossrunner when first released.   However the updated model is a gem.   My reasons for changing :  Wanted softer ride,  suspension etc.. Wanted to get back to the 17inch front wheel (its without doubt a better controlled ride),  Smoother low speed/closed throttle manouvring in town.
I also like the new shape/design on the Honda.   Will probably have a better view after a first tour in early May.
Only my thoughts as  I age and keep riding !

    Welcome,
look forward to hearing your reports after your trip.
having a 2014 C.R. and not having ridden the new one was it just the styling you didn't like or are there noticeable differences in the ride? How old was the old one as footpeg position changed in 2013 >

I know what you mean about the Tiger, like my old CBF1000 just didn't reward gear changes and was sleep inducing in its boring (Linear) power delivery.Could take the middle 4 gears old of the gearbox as 1st and 6th is all you need.

thanks adst - Kernow does rock - but always a long haul to ferry ports!
thanks 54+- it was a 2013 cr demo , but stayed with a second tiger,  at 6ft both bikes are pretty good for seat/peg/bar comfort -but im already finding the honda just a little more reactive. ill post again when ive banged some miles on.
