chain stretch
on: May 20, 2016, 08:35:40 PM
at the first 600mile service there was what i considered a major amount of slack in the chain. duly adjusted at the service. after the service ive been on a 3000 mile tour in spain/portugal, and at about 2000miles needed to tighten the chain again to manual specs. ive never seen this stretch on a couple of previous ne machines until after at least 6-8000 miles. is this normal for the ct , or have i got a rubbish chain?.  :003:

Are you keeping it well lubed?

I haven't seen a chain stretch as much as you describe on any of my bikes either.

I had a Scottoiler v system fitted when my Crossrunner was new and at just over 2000 miles later I haven't had to adjust it yet.

I don't know if it was adjusted at the first service but it didn't look to be necessary when I took it in.
