Changing Engine Oil

Hello everyone, i have a big dilemma.
I changed the engine oil with the original Honda one like the below link where Honda says to change it every 12k km but the guy from the shop told me is better to change it every 6k km because it is a little bit thin.
What do you suggest?
Here is the oil

It's not " thin" it's to Honda specification.
However if you're going to take a long time to do 12000km then perhaps you might wish to change it earlier.

I'd run it till you've done the distance then, as you're using it regularly, modern semi synthetic oil doesn't break down as easily as older mineral oils. However If you want to be extra generous perhaps change it every 12 months?
Others will say differently because they love their bikes to bits but the oil will do the distance. It's your money, but as long as it's the correct spec and grade oil ( doesn't have to be Honda ) then you can follow the manufacturers recommendation.
(Now if you only did 1500 kilometres a year I would suggest changing it more regularly than every 12 years )

As long as it is a 10W/40 semi-synthetic bike oil from a reputable company and says API SG and/or JASO MA on the bottle you will be fine.
You can use fully synthetic oil if you want (I do), but there is no real need if you are changing the oil at the specified interval.
