    Hello from Weston super Mare

Hello everybody, just ordered my new red Crossrunner that I collect on Tuesday 26th July. Looking forward to it after the Kawasaki GTR1400 that I've traded in. I've owned two VFR750's in the past so know and love the Vee 4 growl. Now that I've found this Forum I'm hoping to meet up with owners in the area and also hear how others have found this Bike. Cheers.

Thanks to you all for your welcome messages, they are much appreciated.

That's it, just one day to go :046: Only problem being that showers of rain are forecast for tomorrow afternoon and so far every one of the four trips that I've made to Thunder Road in Cwmbran have included some rain on the journey there or back. So looks as though tomorrow will be no different :013:

The Weston Bike Night every Thursday is worth a visit as there are bikes of all kinds there and if the weather is good, maybe up to a thousand bikes and Trikes parked on the Beach Lawns.

    Thanks again for the welcome.

Sounds good, bet it's nice when loads of bikes are out. Handles well in the wet, so no worries.

Well it didn't rain after all and the ride home was uneventful, though had to leave the spare original Can to be collected another day.

So far have covered only about 70 miles it but feels great and obviously much lighter and more manageable than the GTR. To me it feels like a modern cross between my old TDM900 and the Super Tenere that I ran before the GTR. So the prospects look good and have to get 600 miles covered before 4th August when the first Service is booked.

Will report again once there are a lot more miles on the clock.

    Well done JohnG,
I had a Super Tenere before my Crossrunner and although the book said something like 35 kgs lighter, the CR feels tiny and so much more agile.
It'll still do the same amount of touring with all the panniers, two up with greater mpg.
Rain next couple of days but weekend looking promising, you'll be out and about I'm sure..... :008:

I collected mine on Tuesday 1st September, I rode up to Glossop in Derby on the Wednesday, stayed a night in a nice hotel, Thursday morning I rode The Snake Pass then home, collected the missus, then we rode down to Chichester and back home.
I had the 600 mile service on the Saturday 5th. Sorted!  :002:

    Hi Tiggy,

I was very happy with the XT1200, covered 10,000 miles in just over a year but did find it a handful when wheeling around and turning it round on the Drive. Besides I fancied a change. Hence the GTR that I bought in May this year. However after covering 3,500 miles including a tour round the French Alps, it was obvious that it was just too heavy and unmanageable for mountain passes. So was looking for something more suitable for touring and the twisties, deciding on the Crossrunner over the MT09 Tracer, Triumph 800 or Vstrom 1000. From today's ride I'm sure that I made the right decision especially with all of the included extras.

I can get the 600 miles on easily but the 4th is the soonest that the dealer can fit it in. I have family in East Grinstead so might just take a trip there if the weather is good.
