    Hi from Norfolk UK

Hi every one, my name is Andy from Norfolk UK. I bought my VFR800X last Sunday after visiting the bike show in Birmingham. I had to ride it home on Monday in torrential rain for 3.5 hours so good way to get used to it!!! Couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it :046:
I'm a bike instructor so been riding it all week and first impressions, I love it but I have already found out on this site how to disable the dangerous self cancelling indicators. I am experimenting with the suspension to firm things up and stop her nodding her head round corners and I don't like the Pirelli Tyres so will be looking to see what members prefer. My other bikes include a CB1300, with 10500 miles on the clock, which I adore and a 650 Deauville which I love as a winter bike. Anyway raising a glass from Norfolk to all members and look forward to sharing views in the future.

Hi Andy & welcome to the site.

Funnily enough, I rode to & from the NEC on Monday through all that torrential rain.  :087:

Still, it proved that my summer gear (Hood jeans & Knox vented jacket) plus my waterproof oversuit (Held Collin) were going to be good enough for our upcoming biking hols. Wasn't cold & not a drop got through.

    Hope you stayed dry.  :031:

    Hi Skids,

Thanks for the welcome, it was a bit grim on Monday wasn't it but yes I stayed dry. I was wearing halvarrson jacket and trousers with a Richa over jacket. Good old ruka lobster gloves and altberg boots and was surprisingly warm.  :190:I wondered wether a taller screen would have been better but at least it kept my visor clear. I have a touring screen on my Deauville but I have to continually wipe the visor. Bike was lovely and stable in the lousy weather and wasn't hanging about :031:

    Welcome Andy   :400:   :031:

Nice Bike and colour.  Did it come with the Fender Extender, or did you fit it?

Thinking of getting one for mine, but lots of makes around and need to find out which is best and if available in Gloss Black too.

    Hi Ben,
It came with the bike so I'm afraid I can't help you with the brand but there is no doubt it stops a lot of crap throwing up into the rad.

    Cheers  :031:
    Andy.

Both Powerbronze & R&G do a gloss black one.

I have both. I originally bought the Powerbronze one but it is far too short imo, indeed it looks like the same one as fitted to my old Vtec but the Cr has such a (stupidly) short mudguard that I thought a longer one was needed.

At the NEC show, I looked at the brochure for R&G and the image they show is of a much longer one so I ordered one of theirs which was delivered the other day and whilst it is longer than the Powerbronze one, it's definitely not as long as the one in the brochure image.

Not impressed by either offering.  :023:
