Help needed! Self-cancelling indicators

Hi all, need some assistance pretty urgently as the b ike needs to be back together in a couple of days for work. I have managed to remove the RH fairing & panel to access the connector for the self-cancelling indicators but I need to know 2 things;
1) In the pics below, is this the correct connector? I think it is because it has the pink/green & pink/blue wires at the top (2nd photo).
2) How on earth do you access the wires inside to remove them so they can be re-connected if necessary?
Worst case, as I intend to put 50k+ miles on her, I'll cut the wires but of course, before I do that, I have to be certain I have identified the correct wires.
Thanks.

I think this may have been covered in a previous thread but why do you want to cancel this feature? I have found it to be quite good.
Also sorry, I don't know for the wires. I have a wiring diagram but the image is that bad I can't actually read it.

My commute is 50 miles up a main dual carriageway with lots of overtaking and indicating for exiting. I find I need to select the indicator at least 3 times prior to actually exiting in order for them to indicate continuously. Likewise, for overtaking, they always seem to cancel out just before I move or during the manoeuvre. So I find myself diverting attention away from looking ahead and around for threats, instead looking at the bloody dash to see if the sodding indicator is still flashing. It's a bloody stupid and dangerous piece of kit. There was nothing wrong with manual indicators, because at least they were fail-safe....if you forgot to turn them off, at least they had indicated for your manoeuvre and were warning others of a possible further move, rather than cancelling just before you actually move which the new system does.
If I cannot remember to cancel my indicators on a regular basis, I ought to reconsider my fitness to be riding at all.
JMHO, of course.

Hi Skids. I think opinion on the self canceling feature is pretty split. Personally I'm with you on this. I'm intending to do this mod and I did a little research a month or two ago in preparation. I found and bookmarked the following link that I think identifies the wires to cut/remove.

Hi Jon. Yes, that's the link I used and you can see the photo linked in it in my OP. Trouble is, the photo is of an 800F not an 800X and the connectors don't look to be the same, hence my appeal for clarity, especially as I don't have a wiring diagram.
