Oil light
on: January 27, 2017, 05:48:38 AM
Had a interesting ride yesterday. Was cruising along in 5th and decided to change to 6th and as I did I noticed my oil light flicker a few times and a momentary power cut but never happened again? Checked battery and all ok there - it definitely not a oil level problem but guessing if the bike is on and cuts power then the oil light would come on?

Also had my first false neutral between 3-4th🙈...not a nice noise. I have the genuine Honda quickshifter and I must admit it definitely not the smoothest tool in the shed

Very interesting that you just mentioned this!!

I did a 635km ride last Sunday around Sydney, and also experienced my first ever false, either between 2-3rd or 3-4th gear. I have also noticed the gear changes have become really awful, that is, very clunky.

Coincidentally, I too have the quick shifter installed (over a year now), however I have made the decision to stop using it completely now, as I have a gut feeling it might be the early cause of some serious tranny issues in the future!

Wow interesting??? I must admit on a few occasions the gear won't indicate on the dash - like it gets confused and eventually realizes what gear it is in. Some days it woks flawlessly - I never use if not under a bit of load - never light load but on other days it can be very clunky? I have adjusted the rod so my boot can give it a good dose of pressure - obviously this unit relies on pressure on the rod but yes I am concerned it may shorten the life out of the box - it definitely not as smick as the factory quickshifter on my old mans bmw1200rs - he lucky he gets downshift as well

Honda gearboxes have never been renowned for their smoothness.

My Cr gear indicator displays a minus sign between 5th & 6th gear on occasion when I'm not positive enough with the gear shift. It's only an indicator.
