Hi members have had my cr now for about 15 month's very disappointed with original scorpions as the bike has only done 2700 miles and the front tyre is totally worn and illegal, so now i'm trawling through web sites to find some decent quality but cant pay over the odds.

PR4 or Metzler Roadtec 1 (my next purchase).
Try Roundandblack on ebay.

Hi Skidz
Which tyres did you end up with on your Crossrunner in the end?
Mine need changing now and wondered which ones you thought were best?
Thanks in advance

I recently changed my Scorpions for Metzeler Roadtec 01's and love 'em.
They're at the sharp end price wise of sport touring tyre choice we have for the CR but for me they've completed and already great package.

Ah Brilliant
Thanks for the info. I have looked them up online and there is a Heavy Weight Version.
Are the best for the CR or is it light enough to be ok the the standard ones do you know?
120/70 ZR17 (58W) ROADTEC 01 HWM (heavy weight machine)Metzeler Sport Touring frontont tyre
180/55 ZR17 (73W) ROADTEC 01 HWM (heavy weight machine)Metzeler Sport Touring rearar tyre

Personally I went for the regular ones as the CR alone isn't heavy enough to need a GT/HWM tyre, depends on who/what's being loaded on it I guess. Also bear in mind the carcass of these heavyweight tyre is stiffer for give a different ride & handling.
FYI I got mine from Oponeo at £220 the pair delivered, my local shop charges £10 per wheel (lose) fit/balance or £55 the pair if someone take a bike & tyres in for them to do.

Thanks very much for the info and good point about the stiffness of the tyres affecting the ride. I am only 75 Kg, so the standard ones will be fine. I guess the originals fitted weren’t Heavy Weight ones anyway. I will look at the site you mentioned and get some ordered. Thanks again

All good replies above!
Loving my Roadtec 1s, masses of grip, no issues on overbanding, confident in the wet.....etc etc.

All booked in to be fitted on 9th April.
I did get 6 500 with the rear not too bad, but the front sides are quite worn.
Looking forward to the Metzlers giving me more confidence
