Honda Top Box Mounting
on: June 12, 2018, 10:40:54 AM
Morning,

My 2012 CR came to me with a Honda top box fitted however the base plate was pretty wobbly so I suspect it wasn't fitted right. Can anyone advise the correct fitting of the various washers, etc. As I cannot find any instructions.

Well worth copper slipping those bolts by the way. All of mine were seized and I had to drill two of them out!

The top box is supposed to float about on the rack, within limits, supposed to aid stability.

Yeah I realise that but mine was very loose and the rattle even with ear plugs was driving me mad. I have two friends with MK1 crossrunners also and theirs are nowhere near as loose. It wasn't just loose bolts either, I think it's been incorrectly fitted.

Doesn't list the crossrunner but the setup is the same for the VFR800F so I got exactly what I needed from there. Turns out there was a couple of rubber washers missing so I've ordered some on eBay. Cheers for that.
