Overnight to Isle of Skye
on: June 29, 2018, 09:23:41 PM
I'm planning to propose to my girlfriend on Skye next weekend so I ran a recce Monday into Tuesday to look for some good wild camping spots and opted to take the crossrunner. Took a route from Glasgow up to Callander, Tyndrum, Glen Coe, Fort William, Invergarry, Kyle of Lochalsh, Skye.

It was my first proper trip on the crossrunner since I bought it a little over a month ago. She performed perfectly. The more I ride this bike the more I enjoy it, fits me perfectly and is really well suited to my riding. Very flexible. It was fabulous through the fast section running through Glen Garry and nimble on the single track.

Unfortunately the next trip will be by car as we want to do some walking and gear capacity is limited on the bike at the moment for two. Going for a run down to the Mull of Galloway this weekend two up though with another CR rider which should be fun.

There were a few but not as bad as I was expecting, nothing a head net couldn't cope with when I was in the bivvi bag. Copious amounts of skin so soft probably helped!
