Hi skid thanks for the welcome yes I certainly am blessed living in NZ having ridden both the South and North island we have amazing roads and scenery....where about did u ride when u were here?
Did a figure of 8 over 3 weeks; collected the bike from Casbolts Honda, had a day around the Banks Peninsula checking the bike out then set off. Twizel, Dunedin, Invercargill, Te Anau, Queenstown, Franz Josef then a weekend off with some friends in Rangiora. Then off to Greymouth, Nelson, Blenheim and finally Kaikoura (the inland route was open by then) and back to Christchurch. 2500 miles and the VFR did not miss a beat!
Had a brilliant time, the folk are so chilled and it was such a contrast to living and riding over here. We were really lucky with the weather and only had rain on a couple of days, the rest were warm and dry (even up the west coast!). Managed to swim with dolphins, sail up Doubtful Sound, take a helicopter ride over Milford Sound, took a jetboat ride up the Shotover river, kayak'd through the Abel Tasman National Park and had a glorious day touring the vineyards of Marlborough.
Will have to come back and try out North Island next!
