2015 32k Service
on: November 27, 2018, 01:14:17 PM
Just dropped my 2015 800X in for its 32k service. No major issues with the bike so far, though I do seem to be being hard on my c&s as I will be fitting my 2nd replacement set since new next weekend.  :003:

Despite the evidence, for my own peace of mind, I am having them check the valve shims and will accept the ridiculously high charge for checking them. If there are no replacements required, I shall omit this from the next, 48k major service.

Didn't they change the valve inspection interval to 24.000M for the 2017 version (which has the same engine)?

They may well have done but if they thought that was applicable I guess they would have introduced it for other model years too.  :027:

As it happens, one shim is out.

C&S twice at 32K, blimey, buy a Scottoiler soooon. I'm at nearly 60K on the originals and no discernable play. Cleaned with paraffin once a month and that's all.
Sorry to preach, ride well.

Don't think so.  I've seen the way you ride and, whilst not slow, you seemed pretty smooth to me.
I'm at about 30K on the 7 yr old originals with Scottoiler and no sign of wear or play.
Maybe you have something out of adjustment...not sure what that would be though.  :027:
