Hi from a soggy France
« on: January 21, 2012, 04:24:28 PM »
Hi all. I am a refugee from the GSers site after trading in the aforesaid for the X in September 2011. I've lusted after a VFR for years but couldn't get comfortable on one. My prayers are now answered and after having the seat rescuptored to suit the BSPP it's all systems go for this season.

Hi gatesy and :400:. which GS did you have/ I always fancied one but a test ride found that even with the low seat my legs were too stretched.
How do you find that the CR comares to the GS?

I had the R1200GS when they first came out in '04, then another one in '07 when I couldn't find anything to replace it. They are great bikes but a bit top heavy. Did about 70K all told so needed a change and didn't want another GS or one of the clones now available. Out of interest a rude friend of mine decribed my going from GS to X as 'like a caveman finding a digital watch'!
I think I know what he means.
My X is a red one with, heated grips, centre stand, full Honda luggage, taller screen and Scottoiler touring kit. It's an ex-demo so all the kit was already fitted. My dealer said that Xs where like VFR1200s, slow to take off but steady sales thereafter. Lets see eh?
