End of the road?
« on: March 17, 2019, 07:45:12 PM »
Talking to a guy from Honda UK at the London bike show it seems that the Crossrunner may be discontinued at the end of this year as it will no longer meet emisssion regs. Anyone else heard anything similar?

Next year new motorcycles need to be euro5 compliant, I wouldn't be surprised if our beloved v4 is not....  :003:

Even if it could meet the more restrictive emissions requirements the old V4 is starting to look like a very thirsty engine next to more modern lumps.  I would expect Honda to be looking to replace it with something more market competitive soon anyway.

Thirsty never ,well not compared to a tracer 900 . My m8 was getting 38- 44 at a push out of his tracer and has since spent on full akra system ,remap etc  and yes it's a better ride now but he'll only see 50mpg if he's really gentle with it and still in the low 40s if he rides normally .

Out of interest, what Euro standard is the current Vtec800 engine?  Could not find it.

The current one (rc94) is euro4, the previous one (rc80 2015-2017) is euro3.
