    Givi Tanklock ring on Crossrunner
    on: May 21, 2019, 10:14:43 am

Looking on the Givi website it seems that there is no tankring recomended for the 2015 on Crossrunner.
The BF20 version is recomended for the vfr, the BF3 for most other Honda's.
Has anyone tried to fit one? Will it fit or can it be made to fit?
I have a couple of bags I use, would be handy to swap easily.
    Thanks in advance.

Ah .... right should have looked more closely...
There is a thread in Accessories....
Looks like BF20 tank ring fits.
The problem is that the handlebars hit the larger bags. I have a small bag so might be ok.
    :-)

Small Givi bags tend to be ok, you'll just have to try and see.

I came across this problem too and ended up buying SW-Motech. Their tanklock-type ring drops the attachment point down the tank towards the rider and so prevents fouling. Like this.
    98 VFR800 - 130,000 miles, 08 VFR800 - 76,000 miles, 15 VFR800X - 44,000 miles (all sold)
    14 VFR1200 - 20,000 miles
    18 VFR800X - 16,000 miles
    01 VFR800 Fi-1 - 9000 miles

Ah yes, I see what you mean. I have a smallish Givi and a large Kappa version.
I'll experiment and check it out on a test ride.
I wonder what the chances are of Givi coming up with a design that mimics the SW motech one?
They bought out a metal bracket adapter to add a tank ring to the f800 range.
I went in the Givi direction initially because I liked the design of their bags.
The tank on the Cross runner is steel so I could use one of my mag-mount bags. I've acquired several in 4 decades of riding bikes.  :002:

Following up on this, does anyone know if the Givi tank lock kit for the CB500X fit the Crossrunner ? the one that drops the fitting down the tank a little in much the same way the SW Motech kit does

Thanks for that info.. I will order one.
I am surprised that Givi did not make a tanklock fir this bike as SW Motech do.
I just sold my SW Motech stuff also.
Reason was that SW Motech did not do the Evo tank fitting for another bike I have..!

The BF20 ring definitely fits but as others have said, some Givi bags will interfere with the bars on full lock, stick with the smaller bags if you are stuck on Givi. I've now got an SW Motech ring on my new CR

    Have a look here: https://www.honda-crossrunner.com/index.php/topic,1813.10.html

    Thanks.
Just as I read above, post delivered the tank ring kit for the CB500X  so I will take it to check fit on the VFR800X... it's still at the dealers awaiting a centre stand from an owner that sold his bike before fitting, kindly sold it to me, new in box for 150.00 posted, due tomorrow.
All being well I drop my CB500X off on maybe Saturday and collect a 20 reg 2000 mile (just over) model.
Shad rear rack, givi plate,SW Motech EVO pegs,Givi handguards or Blizzards for the winter, Hepco Becker engine bars all on order, some already here.
Really surprised that Givi do not do dedicated tank rings, also that Barkbuster do not also do a dedicated kit for this bike as I have had them on previous bike such as Desert Sled, Urban GS, Tenere T7, CB500X..plus others.
Maybe a mix and match of some kits I have removed when bikes were sold may just work with minor mods.

I have Barkbuster universal ones on mine, great weather coverage.
