Buzzing sound above 6000rpm
on: June 28, 2019, 01:33:20 PM
Hello again guys!

Trying to get my head around all the new sounds and feeling of the V4, and since the bike is not new I'm getting bornderline paranoid over anything that doesn't sound "normal" to me.

So straight to the point. I'm getting this buzzing sound above 6000rpm that I can only describe as a washer being loose and making a buzzing/ringing sound.

Happens both while on the go regardless of gear if I hold the throttle at 6-6.5k rpm, and when on neutral at anything above 6000rpm.

The sound disappears as soon as the VTEC valves open up.

I'll try and get a sound-clip/video of the sound later today. Hopefully, it will be able to shine some light over the vagueness of my statements above.

And the Lord said unto John, “Come forth and you will receive eternal life.”
But John came in fifth - and won a toaster.

Hi Andrew

Is there a particular place the sound is coming from?

At 6k rpm, there's a lot of vibration going on so anything loose, inside or outside, is likely to make a noise.
