I went for these as my bike's white...............oh and the fact they were £28 on Ebay might have influenced me a bit
They're a doddle to fit and look right too, to me anyway -

They do black ones too -

Depends what yr after. Most guards are designed to stop branches hitting your fingers when you ride off road.
If you don't ride off road, they do very little for you. The ones that cover your hands protect from the rain, like Oxford and the Barkbusters that I have.
So firstly, what do you want them to do?

My Acerbis ones make a good job of deflect some of the wind & rain too but least get real, anyone even thinking about taking a Crossdresser off road has most definitely bought the wrong bike

My point exactly, put a little more forcibly.
What is the job of the handguards?

Sorry, wasn't meaning to be pushy, the reason I bought hand guards was for a bit of weather protection as you can get away with them on an Adventure Style of bike without them looking f'kin stupid.
My advice to Chef would be go for whichever make you can buy used rather than the rediculous prices they charge for them new.

CBM yeas I agree, wind and rain deflection they help and I've had them on my Crosstourer VFR1200x since new.
I have done a great deal with trade in and have a few hundred quid cashback on the deal for accessories for my new CR.
Dealer has also done further 20 percent off whatever I buy so I'll buy new while I can.
I personally don't see why the CR is not equipped with them as standard on this style of bike.

I too have the Acerbis guards and they look OK and were straightforward to fit. However, I bought them to deflect some wind and stop my fingers from freezing and they do make a difference, but not a huge amount and certainly not enough to stop me having to buy heated inner gloves (which are lush BTW). In retrospect I should have bought the Givi ones.

Ditto with Mr click - I have heated grips but the acerbis guards are a tad minimal - some of the others can look a bit like cut down dustbins to my eye - each to there own, it's a compromise on form and functionality methinks

Don't quite cover your hands due to the mirror stalks, but if it is wind/rain/cold you want to minimise, these are very good.
I wouldn't be without mine through the winter.
