Where are you planning to go on your CR in 2012?

Looking out at the snow covered roads I got around to thinking about the summer and where I plan to go on the CR.
So far I have booked to go to the following :-
    1) Festival of 1000 Bikes at Mallory Park
     2) weekend in Dorset with my wife
     3)  Scotland for a few days
     4) A 2 centre holiday in Northumbria and Yorkshire with my wife
5 Possibly a few days over in N.Ireland.
If anybody has any suggestions of good rides in these areas I would be pleased to hear from them

I thought it might be interesting to know where others are planning to take their CRs

Main venture will be a 10 day trip France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany in late may - hoping to meet up with some of the Italian owners near Lake Garda.

Would like to get up to Scotland again for a few days later in the year as well.

Belong to a very loose riding "society" with guys from all over (Crewe, Lincolnshire, London, Reading, Bristol to name but a few of their locations). We meet at various events, such as...

Ride to the Wall @ the National Arboretum
    Brackley Festival of Motorcycling
    Hog the Bridge, Bristol.
    Various Charity Rides.

plus we have numerous sunday gatherings (more ride ins due to distances people come from) plus  rideouts from Avebury, Wiltshire (favourite meeting place) and other favourite starting points where we gather pretty early - I tend to be on the road by 7 am for these and back home 12 hours later.

I particularly like one which runs from Raglan, via Abbergavenny to Haye on Wye and goes over the Black Mountain. Also like an annual ride down to the Jurrassic coast - Weymouth,Portland, Westbay and that sort of area. Might do a weekend down there as its really great biking.

I tend to be out most sundays (if weather is good) and rides are regularly 200 plus miles . I also like to ride solo mid week - just take off early mornings to wherever I fancy - sometimes pack a bag and stay a night or two. All told - will probably do 15k miles again this year.

sounds good to me. Sadly I only get every other sunday off and on one of those i am coming off night shift so only tend to go for short runs such as Box hill or The Ace. I know what you mean about the Jurassic coast & West Bay which is why we are going to Uplymme  for a weekend. I particularly like West Bay and the road from Burton Bradstock to Chickerel. Fish & Chips down by the Cobb where The french lieutenants Woman was filmed

Have to agree that the Eurotunnel is really top class - we are planning to get down as far as Reims on friday night in May which will make the following days run down to Mt Blanc region that much easier. Last year we went via Eurotunnel and Belgium down to Moselle area and then on down into Black Forest , around Austria (which I really love) down to Lake Garda and back home via Stelvio and Baden Baden onto French motorways. It's a fair run down to Folkestone from home but worth it.

Going to Portsmouth takes a little less time but then u have a long ferry trip. I would go ferry would be if I was heading down west side of France though.

Nothing planned as in booked or anything but I hope I can make the trip to Luxembourg that my group is organising, a couple of track days and hopefully some off road training. Availability for longer, multi-day trips is limited so I will continue mapping the roads in the South East with every opportunity that I get.

First long ride is at the end of this month from Adelaide to Phillip Island for the WSBK round in Australia... About a 2500K round trip.

Give me a shout if anyone else is attending.

Cheers mate - will always bear that in mind. We must sort out a spring meet up (as per your suggestion  - maybe put a provisional date in the diary - your call so it fits round your work schedule.
Am sure we could get a few together.
