    Hugger and sidestand (pad)

    Hi all,

Just looking to get a hugger for my 2019 bike; the level of exposure that shock gets to the elements is worrying without one! Which do people recommend? The genuine Honda one is £90 I believe (and presumably is sound as it's OEM?), Pyramid also make one which is £95 from Sportsbike but I've got a discount code which pretty much brings it in line with the Honda one. Any thoughts?

The other thing is there such an accessory to spread the load of the sidestand? One of the things I've noticed about this bike is it's quite lardy . . . I have visions of parking up on gravel / unmade ground and the sidestand just disappearing into the ground! I do have a little load spreader thing, but my old bikes were low enough that I could literally reach down while sat on the bike and slip it under the sidestand - don't think I could manage that on this bike! Ideally some sort of load spreader that is fixed to the sidestand . . . I'd imagine such a thing must exist?

    Cheers

    Rob

My new Cr has a Honda hugger fitted, my previous one had a Powerbronze one fitted - you can get discount from them using a code from the Powerbronze section of this site.

Not had an issue with the sidestand but I know what you mean. Not sure it's worth spending much on it. Shop around, there are plenty out there.

Are you able to get huggers without the chain guard?

I had a hugger on my Gixxer but it seemed to let more crud near the springs than it kept out.

I’m noticing a ton of crap that hits the whole rear end of the Crossrunner. Seriously considering a hugger at the mo.

    Hi Rob,
I got side stand ext foot for about 6 0r 7 quid on ebay… not bike specific but does the job.
I'm also in Manchester if you wanna meet up and have a look, or I may find the link to buy.

Is the side stand pad an OEM part or aftermarket? I'm quite keen on a fit and forget solution which will function as that extra layer of insurance on soft ground.

This was the sort of thing I was thinking of, although it seems quite expensive what it is?

    Link not working...
But this is the one I've got on mine.
Not perfect fit but only millimetres out so all 3 clamps hold it secure.
Been on mine ten weeks now and no prob.
    Cheap fix.
