new hoops

my winter joy was tyres, so i ripped off the cupped and twisted oem scorpion pair,,
and fitted Mich road 2ct. i just cant see the worth of a price jump for mich 5 rubber. seriously, im not buying shares.
3ct got a slagging for the visible compound line and the crossdresser patch only used a bit of the middle unless you run soft a bit, as its quite wide, claimed too wide for the bike.
the 2ct isnt as good a miles and a smaller hard coumpound size in the centre. . but most of the time on my previous bikes i got 1500-2500mls MAX
so i hope these will suit my sunday fun runs.
photos seem to go all weird on uploading.
i actually just wanted something middle of the road. for all of the road.
see how they get on and will give a review by the autumn, im sure they'll be scrap by then.
if i cared about being judged by a stranger, i'd be religious.

That's pretty decent. I checked out the Roadtec price at my local wheel fitter and they were looking north of £320. They pointed out the Mich road 2's as a decent option.

Can you be more specific with the tyre name? Michellin do a Pilot Power 2CT but the tread is nothing like your picture, it looks like a
Pilot Road
2 (or PR2).
I find tyres a very personal thing, what suits some doesn't suit others so if you've found a tyre that yr happy with, that's brilliant. But I'd question your economics. I can get a pair of modern tyres (PR2 are a few years old design now) supplied and fitted for under £250 and they will last me over 8000 miles (rear) so if you are only getting ~2000 miles, then they are a false economy as well as being older technology.
I found quite a jump between the PR3 and PR4 in terms of grip and longevity but the jump to my current tyres (Metzeller Roadtec 1, which I think is equivalent to the PR5) was as much again, especially in terms of wet stability over surface changes.
If only for the safety factor alone, I'd always want a more modern tyre to take advantage of the improvements.
YMMV.

older tech suits my riding and pocket, heat rips rubber, anyone getting 8k is a sedate rider. id rather chuck a medium priced tyre that works, than be a tester for new tyres at near double for mich 5 stuff. they last me a season and i chuck them. personal choice.

I refute your insinuation regarding sedate riders.....whilst I admit I'm not the fastest, I'm not slow and have rarely got below 8k out of any of my rear tyres in 20 years of VFR riding. If you are only getting 1500-2000 miles out of an ST tyre, then your riding style is rather extreme.
If you want a sportier tyre, that's fine, but the PR2 is not a sports tyre and the PR4, PR5 and Roadtec 1's are grippier and last longer, far longer than 1500 miles and when you take into account the price difference, you are spending more per mile.
But that's your choice.
Keep her rubber side down.

the race rider philip mccallen's shop is hearby, he changed my tyres last year, and made a comment 'was it on a trackday' ( previous bike 1300 St pan. only have the vfr a few months and the tyres werent great but they seen me up to winter storage. still, fast and safe i prefer to just go something in the middle with cost, and im 99% fair weather rider
maybe ill be surprised with the crossrunner tyres by the autumn.
its all learning right now, for me.
