Thinking of buying a 2016 CR

Hello All
Currently use a Honda nc750 for my daily 50 mile commute , does what it says on the tin but lacking the fun factor
Have seen a 2016 Cross runner with 7k miles , with a akropovic exhaust , centre stand , top box for £7k
Thinking of taking the CR for a test ride
Would appreciate any info from higher mileage / commuter usage of the cross runner
Especially mpg / tank range for mainly a motorway & a road commute
Service costs believe its a 8k service interval
Also any thing to look out for ? price ok or high ? ( from garage )
Thanks Steve

Take it for a spin. As far as long haul goes no problem whatsoever plenty on tap & great tank mileage 350km- ish cruising up to 130kph stock. Servicing you can do yourself until valve check about 30,000kms or maybe never like some.

Had 64 plate NC750X before, so can tell you most of the important differences.
You'll never reach NC mpg on CR.
I was doing around 83mpg on NC, and currently 54mpg on CR.
You can do around 200 miles on one tank, same as on NC.
8k service is cheap, 16k is around £600 - valve clearance adjustment.
Try it, definitely you'll see difference in acceleration and braking.
CR is 242kg, NC around 230, but with lower center of gravity.

Believe that the valve check has now been pushed back to 24000 miles, if needed then.

Thanks for the replies
Yep the 30 mpg drop would be harsh from the nc750x , but is a different class of bike
But hoping the plushness , extra performance , fun would be worth the extra cost
Trying to sort a test ride out at the moment
Cheers Steve

If mpg is an issue you might want to test ride a Triumph Tiger 800 as well. More modern engine with better electronics and they get closer to 65 mpg.
Good grief! What am I saying? No, no buy the CR obviously.

iv a dec 2016 with about 6 k on it atm. just got it last summer. im coming down from a st1300 and sooooo miss it. but it's growing on me. i thing the experience would be better if i was moving up from a 600.
think this summer will be a fresh outlook to it.
give it a test drive, there is nothing to dislike in general, but everyone is different.
if i cared about being judged by a stranger, i'd be religious.

Steve, regarding price I bought mine private, 16 plate, top box, Akrapovic can, top box, centre stand, hand guards, hugger, rad guards and 3,000 mile on the clock, full dealer service. looked like new. It cost me £6,600 18 months ago. Great bike, service it myself, well except the valve adjustments. From what I've read and understood there seems little point in getting them checked until 32,000 miles so that's what I'll do. I expect to have to part with probs over £500 to get it done but that's a long time away. Good look with the test ride, no idea when local dealers will be open but hopefully soon.
Cheers
Rob
