Second Denali - power draw
on:

Hi all
I'm not electrically-competent so I need to know whether fitting a second Denali SoundBomb Mini to my '18 Cr will be an issue for the power draw and fusing. I was planning to run extension wires from the existing horn wiring, which my current SoundBomb Mini is connected to.
Draw is 5 amps.
Any issues?
Many thanks.

That's 5 amps per horn.

How many amps is the fuse you run it on?
And did you measure the draw or read it from the specs?

It's run from the standard horn connection so whatever the standard horn fuse rating is.
Read it from the specs.

Just checked the wiring diagram, it seems that the fuse is 10A. So 2 Denali's and the original horn do blow the fuse.
You either shout loud in case of emergency or use a relay and floating fuse for your horn(y')s ;-)
Not shure if the Denali does really draw 5 amps, I haven't got one to check. If you have a multimeter (and half a brain) you can check the actual draw yourself.

I'll give that a go. Best put some earplugs in though.

Which raises the question: why 2 denali's?
I hardly ever use the horn.

Cheaper option than buying the SoundBomb. I'm also suspecting the first one is a little quieter than it used to be.
I use it a few times a week, for the usual idiots but also as a warning on occasions to help ensure drivers know I'm there, if they haven't seen the LEDs, the dayglo and the white helmet.

You know you have to measure amps inline (not parallel)?
