Looking at a used Crossrunner

I am currently riding a Honda VFR 750C Super Magna from '88.
Now that  I have completely restored the bike I'm looking to trade up to a newer model for my daily commutes.

The bike I'm looking at is a 2015 model with about 68.000 kilometers on it.
It has some scratches on the engine cover from what looks like a minor slide on the ride side.
What should I look out for when checking the bike? I'm planning a test ride in the upcoming days.

Full service history including the 16 and 32 thousand mile valve checks, general condition will give away how well it has been looked after too, chain & sprocket wear, brake pads, suspension may well need some attention at that mileage, battery, what colour is the engine oil and the brake/clutch fluid, how worn are the tyres.

To name but a few!

That list seems like a good place to start. I already noticed the back tire is a bit worn. and as mentioned the engine cover either needs replacing or a powder coat.
What should be a reasonable price given these parameters?

Couldn't say, but there are plenty of lower mileage ones around. It depends on your budget and how much you are willing to spend.

True, many on offer have about half or less the mileage. But the owner is asking 5 k for this one. All the higher mileage ones are starting around 8 k (euro's)
So could this be a good deal? To good to be true? Or should I look for a better deal?

5k sounds quiet reasonable to me, on the Dutch market. Mine has 58k and I shure as hell won't sell it for 5k.
Any info on the bike's history?

Its at a used car dealer. According to the salesman it has only had one previous owner.
That's all I know for now. I hope they have some maintenance history.
I'm going to take it on a test ride and to a garage to have a closer look at it.

Ill let you know tomorrow how the testride went!

Ah, the scruffy looking one in Leiderdorp! Looks like it had a hard life, seen lots of salty winter miles. But could still be a good bike at a good price.
