    Presents from Holland have finally arrived for my Mk1  CR in the form of a shock and springs for the front.

    Not having or being able to get a manual is a pain in the arse.

    Any advise on what needs to be removed to get to the top mount of the shock would be appreciated.
    Eg how much of the fairing needs to be removed to get the tank up?
    Any short cuts?
    I’m also putting new iridium spark plugs whilst the tanks up / off.

    Front springs I think should be fairly straightforward. Going to change the oil also and the perished dust seals.

    Thanks in advance for any help / pointers

    Bikespod, both side fairings need to be removed and even then, the top inner black plastic trim still has to be manoeuvred to be able to lift the tank but it can be done with this in place, just be careful you don't mark the tank. And it's a pain in the rear when you're dropping the tank with this still in place as you have to gently open it out to get the tank back down.
    There are a couple of pipes on the left hand side that can be detached as you lift the tank and also have a piece of wood e.g. old broom shank (from memory about 9-10 inches long) ready to prop the tank up once it's lifted
    I'm not aware of any short cuts so will be watching to see if there are any suggestions.

    Anything to be aware of detaching the pipe? Does fuel spill out or is it held in by a valve.
    Planning on doing this in the sitting room, under protest from the Mrs 😂

    Got it in. Had to remove wheel, exhaust silencer, rear hugger to get to linkages. Remove all linkages and dog bone.
    Loosen all side panels by removing fixings and clips etc.

    Lift tank at back after unbolting, prop on a piece of wood. Undo top shock mount. Drop and guide the shock out past exhaust collector ( no need to remove any other exhaust pipework.

    Then reassemble with new shock after greasing needle rollers in all the linkages.
    Did the rear spark plugs whilst the tank was up. All day job after manoeuvring the bike into the sitting room.

    Just the forks and front plugs to do tomorrow.

    I went to hyperpro Alphen aan den Rijn (that's where I live)
    in 30 minutes David replaced the front springs for the shorter progressive version , put oil in and put it all back togeather again,  did not remove the fairing (2015 model)
    it seemed to take ages to fit the correct shorter rear spring.
    He had to fit a spacer....  he had to make one out of Aluminium.
    then he discovered the pre-ajusting knob did not work,   had to repair that too.

    I'm driving this configuration for more than 2 1/2 years now... still love the setup !
    Best money spend.... after buying the Crossrunner 2015 !
    next best thing : invest in Michelin road5 tires   :047: :047: :156: :156: :028: :046:
