Hiya , can i ask a general question pre-purchace of my CR. Do they suffer the normal Honda probs with reg/recs.

The 2015+ model does not, at least I've never heard of one.
I don't know about the 2011-2014 model though.

Never been an issue on mine and I have never heard of a Mk1 with that problem.
I thought that the old VFR800Fi issue with the reg/rec had been sorted by the time the VTEC came out?
Certainly the replacement one I put on my FiX was supposed not to suffer from the same failure rate.

With the vtec the problem moved from rec/reg to stator (they can fry). Mk2 is problem-free.

Indeed, my 07 fried its alternator.
