Has anyone fitted a new complete exhaust system? If so, what did you choose and what was the cost?
Mine is in need of replacement due to corrosion, can keep the Akrapovic can though.

It is stainless steel, innit? Is there structural damage due to the corrosion or just cosmetical?
Anyway, I think your options are limited, afaik only bwe do headers for the vfr.

Good question.
It looks pretty corroded around the join behind the heat shield/shock area.
I’ll get a picture posted

There's a custom header build going on over on VFRD. They may be ready to do another batch, but you'll have to ask.
Good point re corrosion though....it's stainless! You may see a very thin layer of rust on the surface but that is normal. Unless you get the headers coated, you'll always get that but the pipes themselves ought to be ok.

Ok, so here’s some pics. It seems that it’s mostly surface rust, although the join doesn’t look great…
The heat shield I posted about when I bought the bike has finally given up the ghost as well…

Looks like a well-used bike..... (or should I say pourly maintained)
But I think it is mostly cosmitical, give it a good clean up first.
Is it a mk1 or mk2 btw?

The heat shield on my 2018/12k mile bike is well rusted.

It’s clearly a weak point. I’ll look at removing it or at least cutting the rest away.

Delkevic make front pipes for the CR..
https://delkevic.co.uk/Honda/VFR800%20X%20Crossrunner%20/2016/honda-vfr800f-14-19-vfr800x-15-19-stainless-steel-downpipes-oem-compatible.html?search=
I think you lose the cat tho but it's compatable with the end can (Akra & standard)
Seems reasonable on price too plus 5year warranty.
