Crossrunner alternator problems

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows of any alternator/rectifier issues of the first generation Crossrunner, similar to the older VFR800. If so, when/how did this happen and is there anything you can do to prevent this?

Not heard of any reg/rect issues on the Mk1 CR, and not sure why there would be. When the reg/rect failed on my VFR800 FiX in about 2005 it was replaced with an uprated one that gave no further trouble.
Presumably whatever the problems were they were sorted long ago.

I think even the later model 800's (06+) still had the odd electrical issue; there certainly seem to be the odd one showing up over on VFRD. It's easy enough to fit an uprated reg/rec and heat sink plus I'm sure there are better quality alternators available too - I had one fail on my 08 VFR800 and they are really easy to fit.
However, I don't think the reg/rec on the Mk 1 Crossie is the same as on the 09+ 800A, it certainly doesn't have the same part number.
98 VFR800 - 130,000 miles, 08 VFR800 - 76,000 miles, 15 VFR800X - 44,000 miles (all sold)
14 VFR1200 - 20,000 miles
18 VFR800X - 16,000 miles
01 VFR800 Fi-1 - 9000 miles

The problem with the pre-'14 vtec engines is a lack of oilflow over the stator, allowing it to fry overtime. I'm not sure how the mk1 crossie is in that respect, my guess is that it still has the problem.
Mk2 for the win!

Due to the constant lighting, the diameter of the generator coils was increased.
Problems have multiplied due to inadequate oil cooling.
This has been done since the 2002 VFR vintage if I remember correctly.
