    Black paint issues?

    Hi all,

I'm almost ready to put a deposit down on another CR - a 2019 one in black with full luggage and a couple of extras like engine bars, tank bag, etc.

Not having viewed the bike in the flesh, I'm just wondering about the matt paint finish and wanted to check with those that have this colour (Skids :016:) if it is susceptible at showing up marks on it? I can imagine it would be difficult to polish anything of this nature out too.

    Cheers

The matt paint on my CR is quite good, better than the gloss black on my Honda Jazz.

I have the matt black paint on my CR and it seems quite resilient. I use Motul matt finish cleaner on it to keep it looking good. One thing you must not do is use a wax polish on it.

Cheers Corringdon, very useful to know that - out of curiosity, what happens to matt finish paint when you use polish?

I'm less keen on the black than my old white one as it does seem to highlight any slight scratches.

Apparently the matt surface is full of microscopic holes which get bunged up with the wax product giving it an unsightly appearance.

Deposit has been paid and collection hopefully on Saturday.
First thing I need is possibly the collars to raise the seat height as they are unsure if they have them. Think the only extras to consider are spots for the crash bars and maybe a quickshifter
