Scotland trip pics and video.

A fantastic week in Scotland, staying in Fort Augustus.

A rare sighting
A rare sighting of another Crossrunner, spotted on the A82 south of Fort Augustus.  Guy named Paul.  I don't know if he's on the forum but he's a member of the Facebook Crossrunner group.

Scotland 2012
Applecross pass, gets your heart pumping a bit.

Met these German guys on the way to Skye and kept meeting them all day.

Near Mallaig

Start of the Applecross pass

Parked at B&B

At the green Welly on the way home, the Police were all over the place as the Olympic Torch was about to pass through.

All packed up and ready to go home :-(

Stabled for the night

Old man of Storr on Skye

Skye

Mallaig

Loch Ness

Applecross after going over the pass.

I love the video of Bealach na Ba (the pass to applecross) I did it on a Pan ST1300 but I'm sure that the CR was far more suitable :419:
I'm glad that your trip up there was as good as the one I took a couple of weeks ago

We had amazing weather, while the rest of the coutry was drowning, all I had was 1 hour of rain on the return from a loop of Skye.  The rest of the week was mostly overcast, perfect biking weather dry roads and cool enough not to feel uncomfortable when stopped and warm enough that I didn't need extra layers to keep warm.

You can see how calm most days were from the pic of Loch Ness, perfect mirror surface :-)

I was in the garage at Fort Augustus and thought I saw a white CR ride past  :156:, then passed you in the layby on A82.  Didn't stop as was leading a group and by the time I saw you it was too late to make them all do an emergency stop  :008:

1st time I've seen a CR on the road, wihout a prearranged meeting  :046:

After getting to the top we carried on over the other side, downhill hairpin  :152: , to the pub at Applecross.  Then headed north for a loop round on some really interesting singletrack  :087:
