PANNIER LEAKED BUT ONLY WHILST STANDING
on:

I have ridden my CR through some really heavy rain storms including a cloudburst on the M25 en route to Dorset on Friday. During all this time my panniers have not leaked. Once we got to Dorset we had some pretty good weather (yes really) except for the Saturday night when we had torrential rain. The CR was parked outside on the side stand. I was shocked to find a pool of water in the left hand pannier the next morning.
Strange but true

I have had similar experience as a result of parking on side stand whilst stopping for drink/food/toilet on long ride home via French motorways in heavy rain. Sound like the water, when running off the left pannier at an angle, finds a way in. Now tend to put on centre stand even if just parking for a short while.

As I said n my other post I've put in a warranty claim as panniers and topbox leak when not riding, still waiting for response from Honda.
Topbox leaked while on centre stand and left pannier while on sidestand.
