Interesting "moment" yesterday

Went for a little jaunt yesterday.  A little ride though Oxfordshire, Bucks and up to Towcester.

Riding along having fun on the B4009 https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Watlington+Rd%2FB4009&daddr=B4009&hl=en&ll=51.63528,-1.003532&spn=0.128492,0.308647&sll=51.669202,-0.964651&sspn=0.01605,0.038581&geocode=FWStEwMdYBDv_w%3BFe1sFAMdYj3x_w&mra=me&mrsp=1,0&sz=15&t=m&z=12 having fun as the roads were empty and it was nice and dry  :007: when I hit a big patch of gravel mid corner   :005:

I felt the front and rear loose grip then the bike went into a huge wobble  :087:  I just hung on and the bike sorted itself out quickly.

:047: to the CR for being so stable and keeping me in the saddle  :152:

Good to hear that you came out of it with no damage to either yourself or your trusty CR

Scary - glad you stayed shiny side up.

There is a lot of gravel wash about just at the moment and can catch you out even on roads you know well.
I hit quite a bit in Forest of Dean yesterday - but was too busy dodging the sheep asleep on side of the road to worry too much.

Yes it was a surprise, the road had shown no signs of gravel up to then, and just this random pile sitting right on my line and well disguised.

Sheep agghh, I bet Slidy found a few in Wales :012:

Funniest animal moment I've had was in the new forest, about 30 bikes riding through and a cow standing half way across the road.  It refused to move just stood there giving us all a filthy look.  :230:

    I givi'd a sheep.  Up in the lake district....8)
passing a sheep on my transalp it decided to walk out as i was about to pass it.  its head made contact good n proper with a givi 45l pannier. bike lurched a bit n then i nearly fell off laughing.  after the bike lurched i looked in the mirror to see said sheep do a 180 and fall over.  i stopped with tears rolling down my face laughing n nearly dropped bike.  sheep got up a little unstable on its feet n wandered off

I wonder if it was the same one that we met down there. It was just walking towards us in the middle of the road. We had to stop as obviously the cow which was a really large one had no intention of doing so. Strangely just before it got to us it turned off into the garden of a cottage. It appeared as though it knew exactly where it was going :002:

Mate of mine is Welsh, he can't help it and he's not too bad despite this  :018:, he was driving around the Brecons once and a sheep landed on top of his car  :005: it leapt or fell of a high bank  :008:

He thought the dating agency was delivering  :046:

As my late father in law was a looker (as they call a shepherd on Romney Marsh) I really know how stupid sheep can be. Having said that the ones that he used for his sheep dog demos would make their way around the course even if the dog didn't do anything. What I really hate is when a squirrel runs into the road and can then not decide which way to run to get out of your way. Only this morning on the way to work I had to actually come to stand whilst 2 of the stupid things scuttled first one way then another
