Hello,
I just bought Acerbis Dual Road hand guards for my CrossRunner (would be better for cold temperatures in winter here).

I got a problem to install them.  :023:
I removed the screw which fix the original bar ends on both side, but I don't really understand how to remove the part which is inside the handlebar. This metallic part seems really hard to remove.

This corresponds to the original "kit standard" on the left of this schema :

Means parts 10-12-13-14 of this :

The hand guards should then be installed with another long metallic piece that would replace this one.

I tried to put some lub' and pull it but it did not move. I don't see what could I do to remove it.

Any idea ?
I could put some pictures if you don't see what I mean.

The Acerbis hand guards I bought claimed to come with a CR adapter.  Certainly it included a modified bolt that enabled the hand guards to be screwed straight onto the existing bar internals.  It seemed a bit flimsy, but the guards have remained well secured for 6 months and have not required any adjustment.

Ditto to si's response - could you be over thinking it?

Just a point, I also bought and fitted these hand guards, I wired them by splicing into the feed for the TomTom. I have to say I was very disappointed with the brightness of the LEDs, but they stopped working (one half, then the other half, then them both) while riding in the rain during the winter. However they are very good at keeping your hands warm.
