As of next weekend I will be the proud owner of a Suzuki GSX1250FA ! Went for a test ride last week and fell in love with it instantly !! The engine is fantastic 1255 cc of total torque, gobs of grunt in any gear, very comfortable and very good wind protection and did I mention that engine (no replacement for displacement!).

And as a bonus that nice Mr Suzuki is currently giving away £800 of free accessories so it will come with a very nice yoshimura end pipe, decal kit and tank pad.

Can't wait. Like Ali and xrunjoe hope I can still come on the ride outs

Leathers,

Sorry to read that. But well recognise there is an itch from time to time to change. Especially if you feel you are getting a reasonable deal. Which I think you feel. All best wishes to you. You've made a significant contribution to the forum.

So far as it is for me to say you are more than welcome to join ride-outs. Especially if you agree to organise the next one!! Or perhaps Joe is still looking in and will pick up that challenge.

Don't forget to come back in a month's time to give us an objective comparison.

Enjoy it.

John

Great bike John..had one before the Crossrunner and found it exactly what you say. Super day to day and for touring long distance. My regular riding/touring buddies are GSX1250 riders and there is a useful owners forum..

Thank you all for your kind comments and thanks Joe for the link- you sound like you miss your 1250, any chance of a return to one?

Will indeed keep popping in and let you have an unbiased report on the Suzy.

Lets hope the weather improves soon and we can have a get together again.

Cheers

John

Wow.  Three prominent members buying lesser capable, lesser well made bikes.
1 buys a kwak sx.   Least its quick in a straight line and has got style.
1 buys a suzuki.  Fantastic excuse not to ride in rain because of it corroding.
1 buys a cbf.  Couldnt find a large capacity scooter to fit the bill.

Whats the forum coming too ??? Lol lol

I have to admit that I did think long and hard about getting another as there were some super deals available. But I just got the Z1000SX eating away at me and went for that. I had the Black GSX1250 for about 14 months and rode it for 14500 miles without a blip and it was as shiny when I P/x'd it for the CR as it was when it was new. I rode it on a 3000 miler round /Europe, Scotland, Wales and Northumberland..and got wet quite often..but no corrosion.

I put BT23 tyres on it (they may be standerad now)  and found them very good in the wet.
Am sure you will enjoy it John.

Lets all catch up soon.
