I have just picked up my Crossrunner from its 8,000 mile service at Sutton Motorcycles (Honda Dealer) Bromsgrove. They charged £130 - all bar a few pennies - which I didn't think was too bad after shopping around a bit.

When the Mrs gets back in the car I'll get the receipt out of it and let you know exactly what they did/charged for.

I would like to know that too . . . . That is all it says on the receipt:

    "parts total £39.74

    Labour        £69

    Vat              £21.25

    Total            £129.99"

I am assuming the labour is charged at £23 an hour. If so, a 'visual health check' and an oil change taking 3 hours?

But as I said, after shopping around, they were cheapest.

I only had it done by a dealer as its still under Honda warranty. When that's up, I'll do it myself!

you should ask them details of your invoice mate I had bad report of Honda dealers doing services that is why I always ask first what is to be done and detail of the work, like what oil they have used and ask the old part back if you could ask them what they did and pass this on that would be great  I am sure it's OK BUT never assume always make sure that's my way of dealing with bikes and cars let me know how you get on

What they do is written on the owners manual. It's got a checklist, so why read that?

I got a printout of the visual check.

    Chain & sprockets
    Tyre wear
    Rim inspection
    Oil & coolant level
    Clutch feel/operation
    Gearbox operation
    Engine noise
    Exhaust
    Lights, horn, fan, battery working
    Pad & disc wear
    Brake fluid
Play in head races and steering checked
    Suspension working
Visual inspection for any damage to the bodywork

As stated the checklist is in the service book
I paid £150 with a courtesy bike for 2 hours and saved me having to travel elsewhere
Couldn't really care less what they did so long as they stamp the book

Don't really care Seb, as I said, I shopped around and got the lowest price.
It has a Honda dealer stamp in the book which is good for selling on, and having another pair of eyes visually checking the things I regularly check anyway is good for peace of mind.
