Ixil Water Pipe

Cause with had a lot of downpours lately, I find that my Ixil pipe is filling up with water when the bike stands. I'm seriously thinking of drilling two pilot holes, so the water drains. Didn't think of this when I purchased it, being the design and angle they sit at. Still on the good side it does sound nice

pipe should already have a drain hole (or holes).
I fitted an Ixil hyperlow (think that's what it was called) to a Suzuki sfv650 a few years ago and that had drain holes for this purpose.

jj, drilling a couple of drain holes sounds a pretty good idea then.
You could try ringing BR special tuning who sell the Ixil, see what they have to say.

Where would you drill the drain holes? I am thinking of getting this exhaust and have thought of the same issue

Hi Xzath, I am considering drilling a hole about 2mm in dia at the bottom where the two pipes join. If you look at the standard exhaust on the CR there are in fact two holes, one right under the exit and the other at the base directly under the heat guard. I went out to my bike the other day and both pipes were filled up with water, so I'm thinking how much has got into the collector box? I then went for a half an hour ride to see if it would burn it off and there was still water laying in the top exit pipe! I believe this is a design flaw on the Ixil and I got in touch with BR Tuning and waiting a reply. Now when I leave the bike I fit a disposable glove over the end, which fits quiet nicely.
