    25 Days across Australia
    on: November 30, 2013, 11:30:05 am

Just got back from 25 days 10491 kms across Oz from west to east and back.
Left home in Perth and rode to Cue to meet friends 2up on a Triumph Sprint GT,then to Kalgoorlie and across the Nullabor to South Australia and up through the Flinders Ranges to Blinman.
From there we made pur way to Broken Hill then Mildura,Bendigo,Ballarat and to Geelong.
Had a day trip to Melbourne then followed The Great ocean rd all the way back to South  Oz .
A couple of days in the hills out of Adelaide then Victor Harbour  area and into Adelaide.
I left my friends there and made a beeline for home .
The crossrunner had no problems apart from a flat tyre that got plugged in Kalgoorlie.
Put new tyres on in Adelaide before coming home.

You went all the way to Melbourne and didn't go that little further to the Great Alpine Road? That's some if the best motorbike roads in the country.

What's it like crossing the Nullabor? Always been a little frightened of tackling that stretch.

Unfortunately we could not do everything but don't worry we found some good roads.
The nullabor was not to hard, I got coolish weather both ways but the wind was a killer on the way east, a 45 degree head wind so the bikes were at an angle leaning into it.
I'll try and put some photos up

    Good job!
How many km/day did you average and max.?
What was you best tank range?
Hope you had a tail wind going home.

Biggest day was 1100 kms when coming home other than that we aimed for 500 to 700 a day.
Best tank was 338 to reserve coming home with a tailwind but usually around 300 to reserve

Yes....I've found the tail wind makes a difference. 6th really seems quite tall and a headwind means the throttle creeps open.
Will have to try a 1000k day one day. Prefer 400/500 tho.
    What speeds in outback areas?
