Honda Quartet Harness?
on: January 09, 2014, 08:18:46 PM
Can anyone clarify where the socket is located on the crossrunner which the Quartet Harness is plugged into?
Done a lot of google searches, but most answers refer to the crosstourer!

Hi, just seen this post.
The plug is behind the left fairing (needs removing to access it), it's taped to one of the wires near the reg/rec, it's a black 4p connector with a blank end fitted.

Hope this helps, Phil

The Quartet harness makes it easier to attach accessories into the bikes' wiring.

There are 4 wires within the connector, a fused switched live, a perm live (I think!), an earth & a vehicle speed wire

I can give wire function & colour if anyone wants

thanks Phil, sounds very like the diagnostic socket, is it the same under a different name?

Oooh, I'm not sure what the diagnostic socket does, well other than diagnostics!
The diag socket is red and under the seat, the socket for the quartet harness is near the r/r under the left fairing.

The Healtec gear position indicator DS version plugs into the diagnostic socket so you don't need to cut into the loom to fit. It must have speed & revs for the GPI to work, think it has a switched + as well. Anyway thanks again for info. Easy access to a switched + is good to know.

Hi Phil

I'd be grateful for the function and colour, and also a photo of what the connector looks like if you're able to help?

Thanks

Steve

I know, it`s not the newest thread, but today i have searched for the plug and find it. I use the switched + and the ground for heated grips. You have to use some small pins to fit the plug, because both parts of the plug are behind the tape and one is empty (hope you know what i mean with my bad english).
