VFR800X dual clutch transmission?
« on: November 01, 2011, 01:06:39 PM »
Just like the VFR1200FD
https://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/sporttourer/#!/vfr1200fd/

I want to ask if is it worth to wait and see if the Crossrunner will be available (Next year perhaps) with this transmission system too???
Does anyone knows if this is at Honda's future plans for this bike???

DO YOU LIKE THIS TRANSMISSION FOR YOUR CROSSRUNNER???

Thank you for your time!!!

Hi iliasv82,
I like this transmission, I've tested it last spring on new vfr1200.
I'm sure, this transmission will not be available for CrossRunner but it will be available on new Honda CrossTourer (same engine and transmission of vfr1200).
We had seen this bike last year as a concept bike, this bike will be presented at EICMA in Milan in november as new mid-off road bike (such as Bmw GS).

Honda will also present new Integra (especially new 2cil 700cc motor with outstanding fuel economy, this motor will be used also on motorbike in the future.)
Here information about Integra and his motor:

I agree with Pella - do not see dual clutch being put on VFR800X - even if it could be done from technical aspect it would make the bike very expensive. It will be on the Crostourer as this is similar in many ways to the VFR1200 dual clutch bike (engine and transmission aspects).

I think Crosstourer will be bigger, higher seat, and heavier than the Crossrunner - if its too heavy it won't compete with the BMW1200GS though.
