Scotland Trip - June 2015
on: January 15, 2015, 08:53:35 PM
Evening all,

Just planning our trip around Scotland for June. We are thinking of going up the west coast and back down the east - taking in Dumfries, Glencoe, Skye, Loch Ness, Perth and Edinburgh. Anyone got any tips on particular routes or stops along the way. It doesn't look like there are many bad routes as the scenery loos great.

Don't bother with the east coast, it's boring compared to the rest. Get the ferry across to Dunoon and miss out Loch Lomond (traffic) and have Steak pie in the Smoo cave hotel if you get as high as Durness. Personally I'd go to Inverness, up the middle through Altnaharra then left to Durness and back down via Ullapool. It's brilliant touring the west coast but plan your petrol stops. Hope this helps.
It's easier to get more money than it is a day of your life back.
