Selling my 2011 Crossrunner
on: April 30, 2015, 09:41:45 PM
Time for a change. I have loved every ride on the Crossrunner, but after 4 years, its time.

I've just bought a XT1200Z Super Tenere. The S10s parallel twin ride doesn't feel as smooth as the fantastic V4 Honda engine, but the main reason for change is it just being physically bigger. We do long distance touring, two up, with full luggage, and this year want a bit more space. So the X is now on ebay. This link should work:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011-Honda-VFR800X-Crossrunner-with-full-Honda-luggage-and-other-extras-/131496913646?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e9dd3aaee

if not, it is item number 131496913646.

The auction ends this Sunday (3 May), so if there are any lurkers out there wanting a bargain, have a look.

I've set the reserve at £5,100 which is more than I was offered part exchange, but a lot less than dealers are selling for.

Well that's it gone, so after 4 years it's time to say farewell.

It's still a mainly unknown bike, as I found out when trying to sell it. I got lots of questions from folks who have never seen one, or know anybody who has one. But I'm glad I found it and have had 4 years of smiles.

Who knows? I might be back in a couple of years . . . . . :019:

Looks like it was a very tidy bike  :002:

What did you decide to replace it with (mentioned shaft driven yamaha in the ebay advert ... what did you go for and what made you choose?)

XT1200Z Super Tenere.

For two reasons. Firstly, with the amount of miles we do, the Crossrunner was just a little too small for us and all the luggage. The bike itself lapped up the miles, and it wasn't uncomfortable, but the S10 being physically bigger gives us a bit more 'wriggle room'. Secondly, It's always good to change bikes and try something different!

If I change bikes the S10 is what I'd go for too.
