You are right!
Just got back from a bike holiday and sitting near the bike at the first campsite I did hear the noise you discribed. Never heard it before and this certainly wasn't my first trip.

I fitted a horn from a moto guzzi, way better than the original beep-beep thingy

Thanks. I think you wrote behind the left fairing. Will take a look when the part arrives. Would make for a clean install, hope to locate port near invisibly too.

Instead of routing from the battery, and ideally having power only with ignition on, what are the options for powering up a 12v > USB converter/ socket?

I originally came to ask about whether there is any pre-prep for the driving lights and if so, where this could be found, but then I read this you wrote, Skids:

"There is a spare switched aux power connection under the LH side fairing though."

Is this on my year model, and can I use it for the intended purpose? Am assuming "switched" means only powered up when ignition is on?

Failing all the above, any alternatives that do not involve cutting random wires, I like everything to be reversible and unmessed with if at all possible.

Thanks in advance

Mileage on my CR is 29000 miles but I'm not sure if this is the original chain set as the bike had 23000 on when I got her.

Out of interest what mileage did you get on the original chain (my old B king did 20,000)?

Items For Sale / Wanted / Candy Red Topbox for sale
« Last post by Ais4Andy on May 30, 2023, 05:38:03 pm »
Hi guys, I have available for sale my 31L original Honda topbox in that beautiful candy red. This has been stored in my loft as I preferred to use a larger Givi V47. Unfortunately my lovely Honda got written off last summer & therefore I no longer have a need for it. HOWEVER, the box is locked & the keys were recovered with the bike which was then subsequently written off. It has 2 minor scratches on it but apart from that it is in very good condition. Is it of any use to anyone? Offers.

Morning.

I've done it a few times and it's not that difficult as long as, as always, you have the right tools. Firstly clean the whole area of the crud that can collect over time around the front sprocket - removing chain guard, lower chain guide & clutch slave cylinder required. Firstly I swap out the front sprocket (loosen it before removing the old chain as it needs to be in gear with the rear brake on to loosen to the mounting nut) then I angle grind the old chain off, just cut one of the links in two. Then tie wrap the new chain to the old one and pull the old one through dragging the new one around the front sprocket. Replace rear sprocket, join two ends of the new chain, tighten everything up and Robert is your Mothers' brother.

Worth checking the Service Manual if yr unsure how to do particular things.

That's how I do it. YMMV.
